NEW Doctor Who Matt Smith will get £1million to play the Time Lord for five years, The Sun can reveal.

The little-known actor, 26, has signed a £200,000-a-year deal with the BBC1 sci-fi hit.

His contract ties him into the show for three years, with the option of two more after that.

Producers were said to be keen to keep Matt as long as possible after David announced he is to quit after three series at the height of the showâ™s popularity â” with 12 million regular viewers. He is filming four one-offs this year.
