Alien spider too big for this dimension
07:29am 23/03/2009

Arachnophobes can rest easy. A giant intergalactic spider has been exterminated from a major new Doctor Who exhibition because the alien is too big to fit into the venue.
Bosses at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum were keen to put the monstrous Empress of Racnoss at the heart of the display which opens next weekend.
But they were left wishing the landmark venue was as capacious as the Tardis after it became clear there was no way the 13ft-tall space invader could crawl into the exhibition space.
"We are in the temporary exhibition space which is in the former cellars at Kelvingrove. We could certainly fit the Empress into the main area, but unfortunately we are in a space which is equally fantastic, just not as tall.
"The fact that the Empress won't be in Glasgow is a bit of a shame, but we have plenty of other really exciting things."
